| | | | The pictures below show larger views of this Small Old Lacquer Painted and Shell Inlaid Chinese Six Panel Changing Screen. Shown are both sides of all six panels. It is painted in black and over the black are planters, birds, butterflies, flowers, plants, and a dragon in gold, red, and green. The other side of the panels have unlaid carved mother of pearl shell sections with plant, butterfly, bird, flower and dragon images. There are small brass hinges connecting the panels. This small screen is not dated and the year that it was made is unknown. It is not marked and the maker is also unknown. Fully opened and flat, the screen measures about 18-1/4'' x 10-1/4'' x 3/8''. It appears to be in excellent condition as pictured. |
