This coin or tag is not dated and the year that it was from is unknown. We would guess that this tag would be applied to a weight or measuring device with a wire after it was determined to be accurate so that it wouldn't be tampered with. Although odd looking, it has a New Jersey State Seal, and it is marked on the two sides as follows: STATE OF NEW JERSEY
