| | | | The pictures below show larger front and back views of this Colorful Old Baby Tykie Bakelite Elephant Animal Character Teething Rattle Toy. The toy is not dated but it is believed to be from the 1940s or 1950s. The elephant appears to be made of bakelite and plastic but we have an old company advertising brochure that states the toy is made of catalin and loalin. In our brochure there is an elephant character rattle named “Eppy Elephant” with a square upper body. This elephant is identical except this one has a round body. This elephant has a hand painted face and buttons. The rattle inside works well. The elephant teething figure measures 4-1/2'' tall. It appears to be in excellent condition, however, the round body section is cracked on the back as pictured (see second picture). |
