The picture below shows larger front and back views of this 1939 New York Worlds’s Fair International Mutoscope Reel Company Advertising Souvenir Photomatic Booth Photograph. This type of souvenir photograph was taken from a coin operated photo booth. Usually these were located in old arcades, in old Amusement Parks, at Fairs, on Boardwalks, and other popular amusement locations. The black & white image is of a man in a hat and tie. This photomat photo is dated 1939 and was taken at the 1939 - 1940 New York Worlds’s Fair. There are different back designs on these tim photos. This one has a very desirable World’s Fair advertisement, picturing the Trylon and Perisphere as well as many fair people, showing that it was taken or created in 1939 at the Fair. The back reads as follows: SOUVENIR OF THE NEW YORK WORLD’S FAIR 1939 TAKEN BY THE PHOTOMATIC TRADE MARK REG. U.S. PAT. OFF. MADE BY INTERNATIONAL MUTOSCOPE REEL CO., INC. NEW YORKY. The tin and paper Photomatic photo measures about 2-9/16'' x 3-1/16''. It appears to be in excellent condition as pictured. |
