One of the duplicate Thomas Edison coins was flipped over to show the back design. Beginning in 1968 these coins were given out at Shell gas stations with a fill up of gas. They would have you returning many times if you wanted to complete the set. We do not remember how many different coins were in this set. There were other similar sets like that of U.S. Presidents called ''Mr. President''. There may have been prizes involved with these game tokens. These aluminum tokens were saved on cards made of paper or cardboard. These have the portrait of a famous person on the obverse side with a 1968 copyright year. In one case here there is one with Mark Twain's Mississippi River Boat. They are marked on the reverse side as follows: SHELL'S FAMOUS FACTS & FACES GAME There are some duplicates.
