The picture shows a view of both sides of this 1846 Boston Massachusetts Drug Medicine & Soda Fountain Syrup Advertising Card. This old card was from Carter, Wilson & Company of the corner of Portland and Hanover Streets in Boston, Massachusetts. Looking at old and new street maps, the building and street corner no longer exist. The current building there on that location is the John F. Kennedy Federal Building. There is much information imprinted on this old card. It lists drugs or medicines that they sold, items that they were agents or jobbers for, and syrup flavors for soda that they sold to soda fountains. The card needed to be returned with bottles or money would not be refunded. The card is dated May 20th, 1846 and it has writing for a transaction with an I. G. Thompson and it is signed by Charles Wilson (owner?). The card advertises or lists the following products: Alcohol Gum Arabic Gum Tragacarth Gum Myrrh Sup Cab Soda Borax Refined Tar Acid Sponge Castele Soap Cream Tartar Calomel Eng. German Leeches Sweedish Do Shakers Herbs Soaps of All Kinds Acid Sulphuric Acid Nitric Acid Muriatic Morphine Sulp. It appears to be in excellent used condition with some wear and writing as pictured. |
