This Kodachrome Transparency slide is not dated but it is believed to be from the 1950s or 1960s. This Historic Pier was once at the end of West 57th Street in New York. For many years it was the home of The Swedish American Lines where hundreds of thousands of Scandinavians had entered the United States of America. Many cruise ships or ocean liners such as the ms Gripsholm, ms Stockholm, ms Kungsholm, ss Drottningholm, and many others, including cargo ships, had once arrived and departed from this famous pier. This Historic photograph slide has a clear image of the Hudson River side of the pier with a crowd of hundreds of Swedish passengers on the platform, a barge to the left, Pier 98, many buildings in the background, cargo crates, and more.
