The picture shows a view of all (10) Different Alcoholics Anonymous AA Sobriety Anniversary Token Coins in this lot. The years that these were made or used are unknown. These coins are awarded to a recovering alcoholic at AA meetings on aniversaries of their sobriety. The newly sober person would receive the plastic ones when they begin their program. The coins would be carried as a reminder of sobriety and not to not drink that day.

The plastic coins are usually used for One Day, One Week, and One Month of sobriety. The coins get much nicer as you are sober for longer periods. In addition to the three plastic coins in this lot, there is an aluminum coin that was probably awarded from one month to six months. The rest in he lot are all brass or bronze for the following longer periods of time: 2 Months, 1 Year, 2 Years, 7 Years, 9 Years, and 11 Years.

These have various AA slogans, the Serenity Prayer, and a few have founding members ''DR. BOB'' and ''BILL W.''. These could be collected, or much better served by giving them as an award to a sponsored recovering alcoholic. There are similar coins for Narcodics Anonymous (NA) members as well. To judge the sizes the 11 year coin measures 1-1/2'' wide. These vary from good to mint condition as pictured. The one year coin has some spots and a hole because it was used on a keychain.
