| | | | The picture shows views of this Old Cast Metal Lourdes Religious Wind Up Musical Statue. This statue is not dated but it is old. It was probably purchased as a souvenir during a visit to Lourdes. It appears to commemorate the miracle of the Virgin Mary appearing to a young girl. There is a small hole in the kneeling girl's hand where it appears that she held something at one time. There is also a place on the back that a background to Mary once was, but we do not know for sure. The front of the statue is marked as follows: LOURDES

L'APPARITION
LA' GROTTE There is a wind up knob on the wooden section under the statue. It has a Swiss musical mechanism inside. The music plays but the song is unknown. There is a paper label on the bottom that appears to be in several languages. The statue measures about 4-7/8'' tall. It appears to be in excellent condition as pictured with the few exceptions mentioned above. |
