| | | | The pictures show views of this 1945 United States Naval Repair Base San Diego California Thanksgiving Dinner Menu. The menu is dated November 22, 1945. It is printed in green, brown, and black on orange card stock paper. The cover has a graphic of cartoon character Sailors serving food. The inside has an image of the Commodore J. E. Boak, U.S.N. Commander of the U.S. Naval Repair Base in San Diego. It also mentions C. H. Morrison, Captain, U.S.N. Commanding Officer, Administration & Military Command, and R. S. Eggleston , Lt. Comdr., (SC), U.S.N.R. Commissary Officer. It has the full menu of that Thanksgiving Day Meal. Note that there are candy and cigarettes mentioned as part of the meal. The closed menu measures 5'' x 7''. It appears to be in excellent condition but it does have folds as pictured. |
