| | | The picture shows a front and back view of this 1940s Occupied Japan Native American Indian Chief Ash Tray. The ashtray is not dated but it was manufactured just after World War II when Japan was occupied by the United States. The tray depicts a Native American Indian head with a feather headdress. It is nicely glazed in brown on a cream colored pottery or ceramic. This may have been sold as a souvenir in the American West. It is marked on the back as follows: MADE IN OCCUPIED JAPAN The space that holds a cigarette or cigar is the bottom feather. The tray measures about 4-3/4'' x 4-1/2''. It is in mint unused condition as pictured. |
