The picture below shows a larger view of this Unused ©1956 The Girl Can't Help It Comedy Musical Movie Ad Mat Mold. The ad mat is not dated but it is from 1956 when this movie was made. This is a mold in which lead is poured to create a thin metal negative image that is then mounted on a wooden block for printing. Advertising is no longer being made or printed like this. The ad mat is like a miniature 3-D poster and would look nice framed, or you could still use it and make print blocks. The print block would have been used to print on movie pages in newspapers, in magazines, or in the movie theater programs. It is made of a thick compressed paper board. The admat has an image of a scene with Jayne Mansfield and a music band in the background. It is marked as follows: YOU'LL ROCK YOURSELF INTO YOUR HAPPIEST TIME WITH THE GIRL CAN'T HELP IT FROM 20th CENTURY FOX STARRING TOM EWELL JAYNE MANSFIELD EDMOND O'BRIEN AND GUEST STARS JULIE LONDON RAY ANTHONY AND FEATURING HENRY JONES FATS DOMINO THE PLATTERS LITTLE RICHARD AND HIS BAND GENE VINCENT AND HIS BLUE CAPS THE TRENIERS EDDIE FONTAINE THE CHUCKLES ABBEY LINCOLN JOHNNY OLENN KING TEMPO EDDIE COCHRAN CINEMASCOPE COLOR BY DE LUXE PRODUCED AND DIRECTED BY FRANK TASHLIN SCREENPLAY BY FRANK TASHLIN AND HERBERT BAKER SIG IN THE WONDER OF STEREOPHONIC SOUND SOG 92 LINES x 2 COLUMNS (184 LINES) 2 COLUMNS X 6-5/8 INCHES MAT - 207 The ad mat measures about 4-1/4'' x 8-3/16''. It appears to be in excellent unused condition with a water mark in the upper left corner as pictured. This does not effect the mold if using it.
