The picture shows a view of the front and back covers as well as a few sample pages of this ©1936 Amoco Gas Station Advertising Premium Stamp Album With Stamps. The album was acquired at the gas station and the inside cover explains that four new stamps were issued each week. The album holds the stamps from the 1st President George Washington to the 32nd President Franklin Delano Roosevelt. All but the last four stamps are in their places in the album. There are (28) of the (32) stamps inside. The pages have the colorful stamps and some details about each of them. They also have an image with an important Historical event. These include the following: Washington Crossing The Delaware, Covered Wagon Train Crossing the Plains, The White House - Home of The Presidents, Sutter's Mill, California Where Gold Was Discovered, Negroes Picking Cotton, Birthplace of Abraham Lincoln, Early Locomotive, Statue of Liberty - New York Harbor, The First Automobile, Digging The Panama Canal, and the Lindburgh Flight - New York To Paris. In the back there are questions about the Presidents of the United States. On the inside covers there is advertising for the AMERICAN OIL COMPANY, AMOCO, AMERICAN GAS, and AMOCO MOTOR OIL. The booklet was printed by Davis, Delaney, & Harrs, Inc. of New York. It measures 7-3/8'' x 4-1/4''. It is in excellent condition as pictured with some light wear to the cover. There are a few words penciled on the cover and a 1937 date written inside. The stamps are all bright, clean, and colorful. |
