The pictures below show larger views of all (5) Old United States Post Office Mr. Zip or Zippy Zip Code Advertising Character Items in this lot. One of these is dated 1964, but all of them are believed to be from the 1960s when Zip Codes on mail started being used. The first (20) items are identical. They are North Pole Santa Claus & Zippy post cards. They picture both characters in a sleigh with reindeer. Both of them are unused. The front of one, and the back of the other are shown in the first picture. The second and third pictures are the front and back of a June 1964 letter to Postal Personnel about Zip Codes. He is pictured on both sides. It has a fold and some wrinkling. Next is a small First Class Postage advertisement that pictures Mr. Zip, or Zippy. The las item is a small stamp that was from a sheet of stamps. It pictures the character. Unfortunately it has gotten wet at some time. All five of these for one price! To judge the sizes the postcards each measure about 7'' x 5''. The post cards and the small ad appear to be in mint condition as pictured. The letter has some wrinkling, and the stamp has water spotting as mentioned above. |
