The pictures show views of this 1950s General Mills Cheerios Cereal Box Front With Dentyne Gum Prize & Bonus Drawing / Painting. The first picture shows the front panel of this cereal box. The second picture shows the back of this cardboard panel (box inside). We had acquired six different old cereal box front panels with this Artist's paintings. This is one of them. This one is a very interesting drawing and painting on an old nostalgic Cheerios cereal advertising box. The other interesting paintings were of actresses and ice skaters. The others were all dated and signed ''Francis Tierney''. This one is not signed or dated but like the others, it is from the mid 1950s. The person that is drawn and painted is most likely a Hollywood Actress, but we do not know who. She is pictured in a pink dress or blouse and big red lips wearing necklaces, earrings, a charm bracelet, and smoking a cigarette. This is ONLY the front panel of a 10-1/2 ounce cereal box. The cereal box panel is bright and bold. It pictures a bowl of Cheerios cereal and a five cent package of Dentyne chewing gum, which is what the original prize was in the box. This cereal box front panel is marked as follows: FAMILY SIZE CHEERIOS AN OAT CEREAL READY TO EAT DENTYNE’ FREE OF EXTRA COST 5c PACKAGE OF DENTYNE GUM INSIDE THIS PACKAGE (ingredients) NET WT. 10-1/2 OZ. MANUFACTURED BY GENERAL MILLS, INC. GENERAL OFFICES, MINNEAPOLIS, MINN. This cereal box panel measures about 7-1/2'' x 10''. It appears to be in good condition with uneven cut edges on all sides as pictured. |
