The pictures below show a larger front and back view of this Old Boy Scouts of America Explorers Syroco Neck Tie Rack or Holder. This tie rack is not dated but it is believed to be from the 1940s or the 1950s. It is not marked but it is believed to be made by Syroco or Multi Products, Inc.. It may have been an award item or something that was purchased. It is made of a molded sawdust type material. There are moveable shaped metal wires to hold neckties and possibly belts. The plaque back section has two holes (as made) for mounting on a wall with screws. There are raised images of the Explorer emblem which includes the Boy Scout emblem, a ship anchor, wings, and the Sun, as well as a jet airplane, sail boats, clouds, waves, and rope. It is marked on a banner as follows: EXPLORERS B.S.A. To judge the size the plaque back section measures 8-3/8'' x 4-1/2''. It appears to be in excellent or better condition as pictured. |
