| | | The picture shows a view of all (4) Old Matching Benton Harbor Michigan Good For Advertising Token Coins in this lot. Both different sides are shown. There are (2) 5 cent coins and (2) 25 cent coins. These are not dated but they are believed to be from the 1920s or 1930s. We have had others like them from that time period that advertised everything from grocery stores, pool halls, bars, taverns, gambling halls, cigar stores, arcades, barber shops, and much more. They were given out in change and designed to intice you to come again and be a return customer. Unfortunately we do not know what this particular business was but the address is on them if you want to research it. The coins are stamped aluminum with scalloped edge or flower design. They are marked as follows: GOOD FOR (5c or 25c) IN TRADE E & A - J.F. 146 WATER ST. BENTON HARBOR, MICH. To judge the sizes the larger coins each measure about 1-1/4'' wide. They appear to be in excellent to mint condition as pictured. |
