The picture shows a view of this Old Boxed Miniature World War II American Douglas Boston III Airplane Airfix Plastic Model Kit. This Airfix kit is not dated but it is believed to be from the 1960s. The model was made in England by Airfix. This is Model is Pattern Number 385. The box has a colorful image of the aircraft in battle and the same image is on the box ends. This unbuilt kit includes the instruction sheet, the full decal sheet, an Airfix magazine order form & checklist, and a base. The long ends have other Airfix kits including: FOKKER FRIENDSHIP - SERIES 5 D.H. HERON - SERIES 3 DAKOTA - SERIES 4 DORNIER - 217 - SERIES 3 To judge the sizes the box measures about 9'' x 4'' x 1-1/2''. The model kit looks to be complete with the parts are on their sprues and they appear to be in mint condition. It appears that this kit was somewhere damp at one time because there is browning stains from old mildew inside the box, and on the instructions (see image), and the decal sheet and orderform which unfortunately missed getting pictured. The decals are still useable. There is also one (clear) taped corner on the box lid. |
