| | | The picture shows both sides of this Old Penny Candy Box and Tin Whistle Prize. The colorful box was opened all up to scan and show all of the sides and flaps. It was reassembled afterwards. One side of the box has a candy store interior scene. There is a candy counter with two children and a grocer. There is candy packages on the counter and penny candy jars on the shelves. The two kids have diecut heads that are not punched out. If they were it would appear that they are looking over the counter. When folded together the counter top is a flat surface. From the side the box is "L" shaped. The other side has an image of the outside of a candy store. there is a door, windows, steps, and an advertising awning. There is no manufacturer's name on the box. I do not know what kind of candy it held. The tiny box is marked as follows: ONE CENT KIDDIES' KANDY STORE KIDDIES' KANDY STORE KIDDIES' CANDY STORE The small screamer whistle included had been kept with the box and is believed to have been a prize or premium that came with the candy like Cracker Jack. Assembled this tiny box only measures 1-5/16" x 1-3/4" x 1-1/4". The box has bright colors and appears to be in mint condition and the whistle either lost it's finish or never had it to begin with. |
