| | | The picture shows a front and back view of this Old Copper United States Army Insignia Good Luck Token Coin Medallion. This medallion or coin is not dated but it is old. It is believed to be from the early 1900s, but we do not know for sure. It is the first one of its kind that we have seen. Judging by the amount of over all wear, we can only imagine its History, where this coin has been or carried around the world in battle or in war, in a pocket or on a chain with a U.S. Soldier's dog tags. The coin had made it back to the United States and hopefully with its luck, the Soldier(s) who owned it had made it back safely as well. One side has the U.S. Army insignia or the Great Seal of the United States with 13 stars. That side is marked ''U.S. ARMY'' and the other side is marked ''GOOD LUCK'' with a horse shoe, a rabbits foot, a four leaf clover, and other worn good luck symbols. This coin or medallion measures 1-3/16'' wide. It is in well worn condition as pictured. The hole may or may not be original making the coin a medallion. |
