The picture below shows a larger view of this Unused ©1953 The Beast From 20,000 Fathoms Movie Advertising Ad Mat Mold. The ad mat is not dated but it is from 1953 when this movie was made. This is a mold in which lead is poured into create a thin metal negative image that is then mounted on a wooden block for printing. Advertising is no longer being made or printed like this. The ad mat is like miniature 3-D poster and would look nice framed, or you could still use it and make print blocks from it. The print block would have been used to print on movie pages in newspapers, in magazines, or in the movie theater programs. It is made of a thick compressed paper board. This admat has the title, actors names, and more information about the movie. A portion of the admat is repeated at the top. It is marked as follows: THE BEAST FROM 20,000 FATHOMS WARNER BROS.
