It is not marked and the maker is unknown. The bell is metal with a black wooden handle. It has a painted face and it is wearing a dress, a matching cloth hat, and it has black felt hands. We believe that this bell is for either calling people to the dinner table or for a bed ridden person to call for a servant. Including the hat, the Mammy bell figure measures about 4-1/4'' tall. It appears to be in good condition as pictured. The dress could probably use a cleaning and there is a little wear on the metal bell. |
