The picture shows this 1941 Glen Falls, New York First Day Cover Envelope And Signed Letter. This letter and envelope commemorate and celebrate the establishment of air mail service with the Canadian Colonial Airways. The envelope has a 6 cent U.S. Air Mail stamp. It is postmarked

"GLEN FALLS, N.Y. - AUG 1, 6-P.M. 1941"

It pictures a twin engine plane from the Glen Falls Airport, Floyd Bennett Field. The letter is signed " F.M. Smalley". Part of the letter reads as follows:

"The envelope for this letter carries the cachet which identifies it as being on the first flight of this new airmail route. These "first day covers" are highly prized by stamp collectors so we suggest that you give yours to a client who is a philatelist, or to one who has a son or daughter interested in this hobby."

To judge the sizes the letter measures 8-1/2" x 11". It is in near mint condition with folds. The envelope has some wrinkling as pictured. It was opened at the top and the back flap has one tear from opening.
