The picture shows views of this Large 1944 India Scarf or Shawl. Shown are both sides and a closer view of both embroidered areas. These were embroidered by machine.

This was brought back from India by a Soldier during World War II as a souvenir for his wife. The material is unknown but probably partially silk. The scarf is gold, the flowers are green, and the wording is in black. Both sides are marked as follows:

Not counting the fringes at the bottom it measures about 49" x 12-1/2". It is in near mint to mint condition.
