The bank is not dated but it is believed to be from the 1950s. It was probably given as a gift to promote saving money for a baby girl. It is made of pink hard plastic with a slot on the top and the original opening cap on the bottom. The opening does not require a key. It opens with a coin. The cap is simply turned counter clockwise to open and clockwise to close. The bank does not use a lock. It is in the shape of a baby shoe. It is marked on the top as follows: HAVATOY

PAT. PEND. To bank measures about 5-1/2'' x 3-1/16'' x 2-1/2''. It appears to be in fair condition with over all wear from use and a melt mark on on the side of the heal as pictured (see second picture). |
