| | | | The picture below shows three larger views of this 1940s United States Army Soldier Uniform Hat Glass Candy Container. This candy container once held small beaded candy that was packed by the Pla-Toy Company of Greensburg, Pennsylvania. There was once a cardboard top section that held the candy inside the glass hat. It is a U.S. Army Soldier hat with an eagle hat badge and eagle buttons on each side. The glass is clear, but the hat came in other colored glass as well. This was a popular homefront novelty item. All of the markings, including the ingredients, would be on the cardboard cover. The candy container hat measures about 3'' x 3-1/2'' x 1-3/8''. It appears to be in mint condition but without the cardboard cover as pictured. |
