Its origins were based on very early World War II war efforts. It gradually evolved to a place were individuals could donate their used wares, as we then sold them, and raised money for local charities. It is an all volunteer, all donations organization. The receipts are donated to a variety of charities and locations: The Hospice of Marin; Re-entry scholarships at College of Marin; Teaching scholarships at Dominican College; and generally recognized charities such as the Alzheimer Association, American Cancer Society and the American Lung Association.'' |
