The picture shows a view of this 1960s Big Eyed Pity Puppy Gig Art Salt & Pepper Shaker & Condiment Set. The set appears to be made of painted ceramic. One puppy head has two holes in the top and the other has three. Both have their original plastic stopper in the bottom. The back of the puppy heads have a notch so that a spoon can stay in the garbage can condiment jars. The bottoms of the garbage cans are stamped ''JAPAN''. Although they are not marked, the set is believed to be by the contemporary Artist Gig and was created in the 1960s when many Artists like Keane, Igor, Eden, Lee, Sherle, and many others were doing these big eyed or sad children, kitten, puppy, and animal art works. These each measure about 5-5/8'' tall. The set appears to be in very good condition with peeling paint on the eyes as pictured. They can be easily repainted.
