| | | | The pictures show three views of this 1950s Ralston Chex Cereal Premium Mechanical Magnet Dog Toy. This magnetic dog toy is not dated but it is believed to be from the 1950s. The toy was a mail away premium called ''Pet Parade Pup''. It was ordered from Ralston Rice Chex and Wheat Chex cereals. The only marking is ''J.V.Z. CO.'' on the bottom. It is made of plastic with cloth ears. There is a magnet inside the charm on the string and one inside of the nose. The charm looks like a hot dog. If you hold it near the dog's mouth the head will turn, move side to side, and back and forth. The mouth also opens and closes as well. He appears to be alive and playing. All of this without touching the dog, only using the magnet. It works well. We have also seen this toy offered with a magnetic toy ring. The dog measures about 3-1/4'' tall. It is in working order and appears to be in near mint condition as pictured. |
