Steamroller   Walt Disney   Mickey Mouse   16mm   Comic   Cartoon   Animation   Character   Movie   Film
The picture shows a view of this 1934 Mickey's Steamroller Walt Disney Mickey Mouse 16mm Movie Film. The movie is not dated but it is from 1934. The film is on some type of old fibre reel. The black & white film fills most of the 3-11/16'' reel it is on. There is an old masking tape section on the reel but it has the wrong title for this short silent movie. The actual title is ''MICKEY'S STEAMROLLER'' but it is marked ''Hollywood Films Mickey Mouse Full Steam Ahead''. We don't have a 16mm projector set up so we did not play the movie, but manually looking at it the film appears to be in excellent condition. There is no leader film section and the title frames are not present. The film begins with Mickey Mouse riding into a town on an old steam roller. Below here is some background reference information that was found on the film:

Mickey's Steam Roller (1934) (6:52)
While taking two children out for a stroll, Minnie happens upon Mickey, who is at work operating an impressive steam roller. When Mickey and Minnie quickly move towards some good natured flirting, the two young ones engage in a bit of reckless mischief in the massive vehicle. Mickey's efforts to rescue the lads soon put him in the destructive path of the steam roller. Oh no! Mayhem ensues.

Morty and Ferdie Fieldmouse
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Morty and Ferdie Fieldmouse are Mickey Mouse's nephews in the fictional Mickey Mouse universe. They first appeared in Floyd Gottfredson's Mickey Mouse Sunday comic strip continuity titled Mickey's Nephews (1932). Since then they have appeared in lots of comic strips and comic book stories starring Mickey Mouse and Pluto.

In pre-World War II Mickey children's books (not comics) produced by the Disney studio, the nephews were usually called Morty and Monty rather than Morty and Ferdie. Very early books contain three or more nephews with various names, including Maisie and Marmaduke. Morty's name, short for Mortimer, is possibly in reference to the originally planned name for Mickey, Mortimer Mouse and Ferdie (sometimes misspelled ''Ferdy'') is short for ''Ferdinand.''

The twins' first film appearance was the 1934 Mickey Mouse cartoon titled Mickey's Steamroller. Aside from a difficult to spot cameo in 1938's Boat Builders, they didn't appear in animation again until Mickey's Christmas Carol (1983). Then they made a cameo appearance in a two part Mickey Mouse Works segment titled Around the World in Eighty Days, which was later reused for an episode of House of Mouse.
