The picture shows a view of this Civil War Era Maine Marriage Certificate. It is in black print and black writing on white paper. There is scrollwork near the lettering and on the frame border. The certificate is filled in and it reads as follows:

CERTIFICATE OF MARRIAGE.
THIS CERTIFIES
That on the Thirtieth day of April
IN THE YEAR OF OUR LORD
1865
Mr. James L. Woodsum and Miss. Olive A. Hall
Were United by Me in Marriage,
at North Berwick according to the laws of the State of Maine
James Nason
Clergyman

The certificate measures 12-1/4'' x 9-1/4''. It is in very good condition with a vertical fold crease, some spotting and wear as pictured.
