The picture shows two views of this Old Carved Wooden Pineapple Butter Stamp Mold. This butter stamp is not dated but it is old. It is not marked and the maker is unknown. The type of wood that it is made from is also unknown. On one side is a carved pineapple plant with rays around the edge. The other side has a handle. These were used to decorate butter used on a dinner table. The pineapple is a symbol or sign of hospitality to visitors. Some butter stamps and molds in the past were used to advertise or identify the farm in which butter came from. The butter stamp or mold measures 3-7/8'' wide. It appears to be in mint unused condition as pictured.
