MARCH 23, 1916 Hanging from the ribbon is a brass framed and colorfully detailed celluloid button. The button pictures a star, deer, and pine tree in the background and in the foreground is the image of two men. One is a farmer and the other a sailor. The word "DIRIGO" appears on a banner between them and "MAINE" at the bottom. All three sections are marked on the back: WHITEHEAD & HOAG CO.
