The pictures show views of this 1958 U.S.S. Dewey DLG-14 United States Navy Ship Launching Framed Picture. Also shown is the text that is attached to the back. The picture is of the ship being launched with flags flying. A few Sailors can be seen on deck. This picture was purchased from a retired ship yard worker. The matted picture with the frame measures 14-3/4'' x 12-3/4''. The picture appears to be in mint condition and the frame has a few small scuff marks as pictured. USS Dewey (DLG-14/DDG-45) was a ship in the United States Naval Service. She was named to honor George Dewey, the United States' only Admiral of the Navy. Dewey was laid down August 10, 1957, by Bath Iron Works, Bath, Maine. She was launched 30 November 1958 and sponsored by Mrs. K. St. George, United States Representative from New York State. Dewey commissioned 7 December 1959, Commander Elmo R. Zumwalt, Jr., in command. She was decommissioned August 31, 1990 and struck November 20, 1992 to be scrapped.
