The picture shows a view of this 1960s Big Eyed Pity Kitty Gig Art Salt & Pepper Shaker Set. The set appears to be made of painted ceramic. The kitten has two holes in the top and the garbage can has three. Both have their original plastic stopper in the bottom. The bottoms are also stamped ''JAPAN''. Although they are not marked, the set is believed to be by the contemporary Artist Gig and was created in the 1960s when many Artists like Keane, Igor, Eden, Lee, Sherle, and many others were doing these big eyed or sad children, kitten, puppy, and animal art works. To judge the size, the kitten measures 5'' tall. It appears to be in near mint condition as pictured.
