| | | The picture shows a view of the 1950 Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Circus Letter and Envelope in this lot. The letter is dated and the envelope is post marked January 30th, 1950. The envelope or cover has a three cent Thomas Jefferson postage stamp. This letter was sent from the Circus Headquarters in Sarasota, Florida to a Hawthorne, Massachusetts address. The letter was in response to one they received concerning acquiring a 1949 route book. It is signed by J. R. Griffin, Auditor. It was written on company letterhead with ''THE GREATEST SHOW ON EARTH'' globe logo. To judge the sizes the letter measures 8-1/2'' x 11''. Both appear to be in near mint condition as pictured. The letter has two folds from mailing. |
