This medal is believed to be from 8th Coast Artillery (Harbor Defense) of Fort Preble, or Portland, Maine. The charm is marked ''STERLING'' on the back with a manufacturer's name that is difficult to read. It has a pine tree and a star. It is enameled in red, white, and blue and is marked as follows: 8th COAST ARTILLERY
U.S. ARMY This may be from the World War I era. The medallion measures 5/8'' x 1-1/4''. It is in excellent or better condition as pictured. |
