The picture shows a view of both sides of the Early Heavy Metal Tea Pot Chocolate Candy Mold. This is only one side of an interlocking mold set that has three teapots. This 1/2 mold is broken in half, but would still make a good primitive decorative kitchen item.

The mold is not dated but it is believed to be from the 1800s or early 1900s. The maker is unknown. It appears to be made of heavy cast aluminum. These were sold to us as chocolate candy molds. The two sides are are marked ''58''.

Chocolate, lead, or whatever molding material would be poured into the bottom of the teapots. The mold measures 5-5/8'' long. It appears to be in fair broken condition as pictured. As mentioned above, this is only one half of the mold.
