| | | The picture shows a view of this 1960s J. C. Penny Advertising Premium Astronaut & Space Poster. The back side is blank. this poster is believed to be from 1968 or 1969. It was given out compliments of J.C. Penny Department Stores. The poster is entitled ''THE STORY OF AMERICA'S ASTRONAUTS''. The poster has different sections with illustrations and information. One are pictures (7) Astronauts with a paragraph with each. These include: Commander Alan B. Shepard Captain Virgil I. Grissom Lieutenant Colonel John H. Glenn, Jr. Lieutenant Commander M. Scott Carpenter Major Leroy G. Cooper Major Donald K. Slayton Commander Walter M. Schirra, Jr. The different sections include: ''The Men'', ''America In Space'', ''Future Space Projects'', ''Man In Flight'', ''Sequence of Events During Carpenter Flight'', and ''Lieut. Comdr. Carpenters View of his instrument Panel''. The poster measures 17-1/2'' x 13-1/4''. It is in near mint condition as pictured. There are two folds as made. |
