The pictures show two views of this Old Boxed Ten In One Scope Instrument with Instructions. This Scientific instrument is not dated but it is believed to be from the 1960s. This version of the device was purchased from a store, but a similar one was also used as a 1954 mail away premium from Nabisco cereals for Rin Tin Tin called ''Wonda Scope''. Other adventure characters may have also used it as a premium. The scope is mainly made of clear hard plastic. The maker is unknown but it was made in Hong Kong. There is a small gold and red foil distributor sticker that was on the box. The glue had dried and it came off but it is included. It reads as follows: A BREACHNER EXCLUSIVE DAN BREACHNER & CO., INC. NEW YORK, N.Y. 10010 MADE IN HONG KONG The box pictures the scope in color on two sides and it is marked as follows: TEN-IN-ONE SCOPE NO. 940 MADE IN HONG KONG 10 IN 1 FOR BOY SCOUTS, GIRL SCOUTS, SPORTS FANS, HOBBYISTS A USEFUL EDUCATIONAL SCIENTIFIC INSTRUMENT The scope comes with its original two sides instruction sheet. It states that ''The multi purpose Ten In One Scope has scores of uses in the home, for scouting, boating, hunting, nature study, forestry, celestial observation, camping, sports, philately, etc.''. It lists the uses as follows: 1. Reading Lens 2. Compound Microscope 3. Adjustable Telescope 4. Focusing Binoculars 5. Directional Compass 6. Solar Time Clock 7. Flat Mirror 8. Magnifying Mirror - Personal Use 9. Camp Fire Lighter 10. Code Transmitter To judge the sizes the box measures 3-3/8'' x 1-3/4'' x 1''. The scope appears to be in mint unused condition as pictured. The box has a tear along most of one of the long edges. |
