| | | | The picture shows a view the (2) Old Welch's Chocolate Covered Fudge 5c Candy Bar Wrappers in this lot. The top one is a 1-3/4 oz. wrapper and the bottom one is a 1-1/2 oz. wrapper. The bottom wrapper also has (not shown) an inner wrapper section and a small black cardboard piece. This candy was made by James O. Welch Co. of Los Angeles, California and Cambridge, Massachusetts. These came from an old candy, tobacco, and gum jobber company that was in New Hampshire. Someone in the company had saved wrapper samples of all the candies they sold. Items acquired were from the 1910s to the 1940s. The business has been long since gone. These came from that lot. To judge the sizes the top wrapper measures about 6-3/8'' x 5-1/2''. The top wrapper was shrink wrapped by the previous owner. It is in excellent condition with the usual wrinkles from being wrapped on the candy. The bottom one has more wear and tear as pictured. |
