Whitman   Book   Bird   Animal   United States   America   Guide
The picture shows a view of the colorful cover of this ©1954 Whitman Yellow Book of Birds of America. This is a small hard cover book. This is one of a series of four bird guide books. The other books are red, green, and blue. The text in this book is by Frank G. Ashbrook and it is illustrated by Paul Moller. It was published by the Whitman Publishing Company of Racine, Wisconsin. The book was printed in the U.S.A. and is copyright MCMXXXI (1931), MCMXLI (1941), and MCMLIV (1954). There are (68) pages with many color illustrations that look like old trading cards inside. This book has Swallows, Wrens, Hummingbirds, Flycatchers, Woodpeckers, Phoebes, Quail, etc.. There are some pages in the back to write some notes while bird watching.

The book measures 4-1/8'' x 5-3/4'' x 3/8''. It appears to be in near mint condition with a bumped corner as pictured. On the first page is a name and an old Lowell, Massachusetts address written in pencil that could be erased if desired.
