Monkey   Animal   Zoo   Thermometer   Paper Weight   Statue   Souvenir   Novelty   Nostalgic
The picture shows a view of this Old Metal Speak - See - Hear No Evil Monkey Thermometer. The statue is not dated but it is old. It is made of a copper plated cast metal. The monkey section is bolted on the base and the bottom is hollow. It is heavy like a paperweight. This may have been a souvenir or prize from an old arcade, carnival, or fair. It may also have been sold as a souvenir at a zoo, boardwalk, or another tourist attraction. The only marking is ''PAT. PEND.'' twice on the back. At its widest points it measures about 5-1/4'' x 4-3/4'' x 2-1/2''. It appears to be in excellent condition as pictured. The thermometer glass is not broken but it is not working. It can be easily replaced. The statue could use a good cleaning but that will be left up to the buyer to decide.
