|The picture shows both sides of this Early 1900's Checkers Popcorn Confection Advertising Premium Pocket Mirror. This is believed to have been a dealer incentive premium instead of a prize in a box.|
The Checkers Popcorn product was from the Shotwell Manufacturing Company. It was a very strong competitor to Cracker Jack. So much so that Cracker Jack bought the product outright in 1926. It was continued but eventually phased out.
The mirror pictures a 5 cent box on the front. It is imprinted on celluloid with red and blue ink on a white background. It is marked as follows:
Crisp Candy Coated
Nut Popcorn Confection
A Souvenir In Each
5 c Package
Shotwell Mfg. Co.,
It measures 2-1/4" wide. It has a center section missing and water stains. Please see the picture for the condition. This would make a good filler if you don't have one.
