|The picture shows this Old Boxed Set Of Fortune Telling Cake Favors. Shown are the included favors, two sides of the box, the envelope for the prizes, and the fortune / instruction sheet. These were actually meant to be baked inside a cake and when sliced it the charm you received told your fortune. It is hard to believe that anyone today would use these as they were intended.|
All sides of the box picture graphic images and one side has fortunes. With the exception of the die and the button, the prizes are all made of lead or pot metal. These old lead prizes were made by the Dowst / Tootsitoy Company of Chicago and are the exact same ones that were used as prizes in 1910's to 1930's Cracker Jack boxes. The toys and fortunes included in this lot donít match exactly. The (14) included are as follows:
Wedding Band Ring
Owl Stud Lapel Button
"For A Good Girl" Sewing Thimble
Doll or Girl Stud Lapel Button
To judge the sizes the box measures 3-1/8" x 5" x 5/8". The toy prizes are in various conditions. The pipe is squashed and the car has a wheel that fell off (but is included). The box is excellent with one end flap separated.
