| | | | The picture shows a view of both sides of this Unused 1949 Bull Shoals Dam Construction Arkansas Real Photo Post Card. The postcard has a clear image of the construction being done. The front is marked as follows: BULL SHOALS DAM, UNDER CONSTRUCTION ARK 85 The post card measures about 5-3/8'' x 3-1/2''. It is in excellent unused condition with an indent at the bottom left corner as pictured. Below here is some additional information that was found on the dam: ''Nine construction companies joined forces in a consortium to build the dam under the name Ozark Dam Contractors. Harvey S. Slocum headed the operation.'' ''The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers operates and maintains the dam. Southwestern Power Administration wholesales the power within a six-state region including Arkansas, Louisiana, Missouri, Oklahoma, Kansas and Texas. About 800,000 megawatt hours of power is sold annually.'' |
