| | | The picture shows a view of the 1932 Portland Maine Publishing Company Letter & Envelope in this lot. The letter is dated December 14th, 1932. At the time the Portland Maine Publishing Company published the Evening Press, Press Herald, and Sunday Telegram newspapers. The letterhead has a building pictured. The letter was written to a correspondent / reporter of the papers. The State Editor was not happy and inquiring as to why the story of a school fire was not reported. It is signed Newton C. Reed. The envelope has a three cent Abraham Lincoln postage stamp. To judge the sizes the letter measures 8-3/8'' x 10-3/4''. It is in near mint as made condition with folds from mailing. |
