|The picture shows a view of both sides of this 1921 Mr. Peanut / Planters Peanuts Trade Magazine Two-Sided Advertisement. This two-sided ad came from the May 1921 issue of a candy trade publication called The Confectioners Journal. The ad was not intended for the general public. It was directed at the candy manufacturers and distributors.|
One side has a colorful illustration of the first Planters Peanuts counter display jar. Mr. Peanut is pictured on the glassine wrapper bag label inside. It is advertised as ''This Salesman Sells, Put Him To Work For You Today''.
The other side pictures an early Planters Pennant Salted Peanuttin and Mr. Peanut. There is text answering the question: ''Are Your Sales Like This? A Straight Talk From Planters To Help You Increase Your Sales Today''. It is from The Planters Nut & Chocolate Company.
The page measures 9-1/8'' x 12''. It is in mint condition. This ad was not cut or torn from the publication. It was carefully removed by first taking out the staples. There are four sets of staple holes on one edge as made. These holes will be covered if it were matted and framed.
