This letter was found among other old items from a man that had been a Police Officer in Fall River, New Jersey during the Prohibition. It is hand written but not signed. The letter reads as follows: South River, N.J. May 5, 1931 Dear Sir, Will you please put this in the Polish paper ''Polak Amerykawski'' that a place was raided by police of South River on Mary Skurzynska of 95 Division Street South River. Twenty gallons of whiskey was taken on May 1st. Thank You Please write it in Polish. The letter is written on 1/2 page of lined paper and it is unevenly cut at the bottom. It measures 8'' x 6-5/8''. It is in very good condition with folds as pictured. |
