The picture shows a view of all (3) 1940s Painted Celluloid Occupied Japan Toy Camel Figures in this lot. These camel figures are lightweight white celluloid and are hollow. They have painted facial features with a redish brown color on their backs, necks, and heads. These were probably won at a carnival or fair game or sold in old five & dime stores. They are marked with raised lettering on their under side:

MADE IN
OCCUPIED JAPAN

Two humped camels are called Bactrian Camels. These are Asian camels, which come form the deserts of China and Mongolia. These camels have thick, warm, long, shaggy coats in winter and are equipped for very extreme temperatures. They can withstand cold down to 40 degrees below zero. In summer they shed and can take heat up to 120 degrees farenheit.

The camel figures each measure 2-3/4'' tall. They appear to be in mint condition as pictured.
